The problem

Every photo tells more than you think

A single picture can carry your exact location, your phone model, the time you took it, your name — and sometimes labels that mark it as AI-made. Anyone you share it with can read all of it.

Exact GPS location

Coordinates saved by your camera can reveal where you live, work or travel.

Camera & device

The make, model and lens of the device that took the photo.

Name & copyright

Author, owner and copyright text stored inside the file.

AI labels & history

C2PA Content Credentials, XMP tags and edit history that platforms read.

Features

See it. Remove it. Hide it. On your terms.

Everything you need before you share a picture, in one calm, focused app.

1Inspect

See everything hiding in your photo

Open any image and MyPixelGuard reads every layer of hidden data, then explains it in plain language — no hex dumps, no guesswork.

  • “Safe to share?” report — location, device, capture time, author and software at a glance.
  • Every standard — EXIF, IPTC, XMP, GPS and C2PA Content Credentials.
  • AI-provenance evidence — clear signals with honest caveats, never a false verdict.
  • Search & copy — filter all metadata, copy values, or save it all as text.
What you see is evidence, not a verdict: finding no metadata doesn't prove a person made the image.

2Clean

Remove only what you choose

Spot sensitive details, click to see exactly what's inside, then remove just that — or everything. Your original is never touched.

  • Click to reveal — words like location and identity are bold and clickable. See every entry and remove it right there.
  • A clear table, full control — EXIF, XMP, IPTC, C2PA and more, each with its size and a simple switch.
  • See before you save — a clear “will be removed / will be kept” summary.
  • Safe by default — asks before Content Credentials go, and re-scans every cleaned file.
  • Selective cleaning — drop only location, camera, dates, author or software.

3Redact

Blur what shouldn't be seen — and watch it happen

Faces, emails, phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers. MyPixelGuard finds them on your device and shows you the exact result before you export.

  • Live, exact preview — see the real blur, pixelation or solid cover on the image as you move the slider.
  • Auto-detect — faces and sensitive text found right on your computer, with nothing uploaded.
  • Your call — click a numbered box to include or skip it, or drag to draw your own.
  • Three styles — Blur, Pixelate or Solid, with Light-to-Maximum strength that adapts to each region.
  • Metadata cleaned too — location and camera data are removed from the exported copy.

Your photos never leave your computer

MyPixelGuard has no cloud, no account and no network code. Detection, blurring, conversion — everything happens on your device.

On-device only

Face, text and subject detection runs locally — Apple Vision on Mac, Windows text recognition and a small on-device model on PC.

Originals untouched

Results go to a folder you pick; existing files are never overwritten.

Verified results

Each saved file is read back to confirm it opens and the data is really gone.

No account, no sign-up

Open the app and get to work.

Offline ready

No internet connection needed.

You stay in charge

Sensitive removals, like Content Credentials, always ask for your confirmation first.

Honest limits. Removing metadata can't erase invisible pixel watermarks (such as SynthID), and automatic detection can miss things or mark the wrong area — always review before you share.

FAQ

Questions you might have

Does MyPixelGuard upload my photos?

No. Everything runs on your device. The app contains no network code and works offline.

Will it change my original image?

Never. Cleaned and redacted images are saved as new copies in a folder you choose, and existing files are never overwritten.

Can it remove AI watermarks like SynthID?

No. It removes metadata labels such as C2PA Content Credentials and AI tags in XMP/IPTC, but it can't remove invisible watermarks woven into the pixels.

What is C2PA / Content Credentials?

A signed record embedded in an image that describes how it was made or edited. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram can read it to add labels. MyPixelGuard shows it and, with your confirmation, removes it.

Which formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG and TIFF everywhere. On Mac you can read and write HEIC, and WebP where supported. On Windows HEIC can be read (when Windows has the codec) but not written.

Does removing the background reduce quality?

No. MyPixelGuard only adds a transparency layer — the subject’s pixel colours and resolution are never changed, and PNG or TIFF are saved with no compression loss. How well the subject is detected depends on the photo, so check the preview before you save.

How accurate is the automatic detection?

Good, but not perfect: it can miss information or mark the wrong area. That's why you can review every numbered region and see an exact preview before you export.

Which computers does it run on?

Macs running macOS 13 or later. It also runs on Windows 10/11 (64-bit). On Mac, Remove Background needs macOS 14.

Which languages are available?

English and বাংলা. Switch any time in Settings.
